Dexi Ville helps children, especially those with dyslexia and dyscalculia, build reading and number confidence through play, in English and Swedish, for ages 8 to 10.
Challenge
Reading feels like a chore for many early readers, especially kids with dyslexia. The brief was to make literacy practice feel magical, not remedial, without losing the learning outcome or the fun.
Solution
We worked with the Foundation, educators, and learning specialists to design and test each minigame with real students. Players explore a village, meet five animal characters, and unlock pages of a never ending book by completing challenges, so progress always feels like discovery.
I joined after the first version launched, art directed the new minigames for the dyscalculia update, and I'm continuing to work on future updates alongside client communication and marketing.
Results
Launched at Mojang Studios in Stockholm with Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia, backed by Microsoft Sweden and Nordea. 3M+ downloads worldwide, 6 minigames, and a Swedish teacher's guide built with research partners.
